Farv’s Pickles is an all-natural, artisan, pickle-company that was founded by Jarod Farver in 2013. These unique pickles combine an old family recipe from Jarod’s grandmother in Hampton, Nebraska, with a California twist. In 2013, Farver began experimenting with his grandmother’s recipe, utilizing new and creative ingredients to tweak and perfect the pickle. It was important to preserve grandmother’s classic dill recipe, while perfecting his own take on the newly re-invented Midwestern pickle. Local beer and bourbon are just a few creative ingredients in our product profile.
After perfecting the recipe, Farver became a certified canner in May 2014 in the state of California through UC Davis, and with that, Farv’s Pickles was successfully created. Farver utilized the help of restaurant friends for kitchen space and started selling to local markets and boutique store fronts in San Diego. The response was huge and after just 6 months, Farv’s Pickles was selling in 15+ stores around San Diego County. Today, Farv’s Pickles has 5 main products, along with several seasonal items, and is currently selling in over 30 stores from San Diego to Los Angeles County, including Gelson’s, Williams Sonoma & Jimbo’s Natural Food Store.
